Job Description: Tradesperson, Trades Assistant & Apprentice Tradesperson
Duties and Responsibilities
As the “Engine Room” and often the first point of contact for our customers, our Tradesperson, Trades Assistant.
Apprentice Tradesperson duties include:
- Provide customer service and support during field visits and tie workflow to schedules to
ensure maximum efficiency. - Manage all on-site installation, maintenance, repairs, and testing tasks to ensure proper
documentation of all related processes. - Complete job cards accurately accounting for all materials and labour expended.
- Diagnose errors and technical problems and determine proper solutions to produce timely
and detailed service reports. - Collaborate with the technical team and share information across the organization to build
positive relationships with clients and the team. - Satisfy customer needs by making appropriate recommendations and briefings using
appropriate field automation systems, procedures, and protocols. - Establish assistance by studying system requirements, including ordering and gathering
essential components and parts, completing the installation and performing quality
assurance tests. - Maintain customer satisfaction by using creativity and ingenuity to investigate complaints,
identify resolutions, suggest enhanced operating techniques, and recommend system
improvements. - Service existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning a daily travel schedule,
reviewing concerns, conducting tests, and resolving problems.
There are generic responsibilities that apply to all teams.
1. The Tradesperson / Trades Assistant / Apprentice Tradesperson is required to observe the lawful and reasonable directions and decisions of all superiors.
2. The Tradesperson / Trades Assistant / Apprentice Tradesperson is required to demonstrate a
personal commitment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
3. The Tradesperson / Trades Assistant / Apprentice Tradesperson is required to exercise proper
discretion in all matters affecting the well-being of the company.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Some companies might look for applicants who have previous experience. We actually prefer a
“Clean Slate” applicant. We have a very specific way of doing things here and we prefer to train our team to do this role, the way we have designed it.
It is not mandatory to have a higher education/qualification to undertake a Tradesperson / Trades
Assistant / Apprentice Tradesperson role. However, a Tradesperson / Trades Assistant / Apprentice
Tradesperson should have the following:
Required:
- Technical degree, certification, or license.
- High-level ability to test, troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment.
- Have a mechanically minded intellect/personality.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules, deadlines, timeframes, and flexible shifts.
- Superb customer service, communication, and self-management skills.
- Clear direction and personal drive to achieve goals.
- Familiarity with mobile applications and tools.
- Awareness of chemical, health, and safety issues
