Job Description: Sales Executive
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Executives are responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals. Duties will include
sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts with potential
clients.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of our company
sales process, team culture and dynamics, and also superb interpersonal skills. Previous sales
experience in an active sales role is an advantage.
As the “front line” and often the first point of contact for our customers, our Sales Executive’s duties include:
- Generating leads.
- Meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
- Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
- Preparing weekly and monthly reports.
- Monitoring and providing the administration team with expense reports.
- Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
- Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
- Understanding and promoting company programs.
- Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients.
- Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
- Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
- Accurate data collection for accurate testing and measuring.
- Maintaining client records.
- Follow sales and administrative processes to maintain customer experience uniformity and maintain forecast closure rates.
- Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.
There are generic responsibilities that apply to all teams.
1. The Sales Executive is required to observe the lawful and reasonable directions and decisions of
their superiors.
2. The Sales Executive is required to demonstrate a personal commitment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
3. The Sales Executive is required to exercise proper discretion in all matters affecting the well-being of the company.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
Some companies might look for applicants who have previous solar sales experience. We actually
prefer a “Clean Slate” applicant with no solar experience. We have a very specific way of doing
things here and we prefer to train our team to do this role, the way we have designed it.
It is not mandatory to have a higher education/qualification to undertake a Sales Executive role.
However, a Sales Executive should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or a related field can be welcome
- Experience in sales.
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional multitasker
- Excellent communication skills
- Courteous & Polite
- Strong customer service skills
- It is also imperative that a Sales Executive has a polite telephone manner and is well-presented at all times.
- Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
- A commitment to excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear direction and personal drive to achieve goals.
